What is The Paddock?
Est. in 2013, The Paddock is a family run fruit & veg box scheme, delivery service & smallholding specialising in organic & environmentally friendly local produce with ethics at the heart of everything we do. We believe in an open and honest policy about how our food is produced, the miles it has travelled, the packaging it comes in & the impact it has on our environment.
The Paddock has been inspired by our family smallholding, named The Paddock, based on the beautiful Northumberland border.
We offer educational workshops & gardening services centred around sustainable food production.
We work in partnership with The Organic Pantry to operate our delivery service. The Organic Pantry are a certified organic, family run farm near Tadcaster, North Yorkshire. Together we can deliver a carefully selected range of ethical produce direct to your door throughout Gateshead, Newcastle, Durham, Northumberland & Tyneside on fully refrigerated vans. You can leave donations of tins & dried goods out for your driver to collect when they deliver. These will be redistributed to a local food bank. All of the team who support The Paddock are paid a Living Wage & The Organic Pantry are a certified Living Wage Employer.
At our 6.5 acre smallholding, we aim to grow as much as we can & supply free range eggs from our own happy hens, Laura's Layers. Everything is grown organically but we are not certified.

How to Shop with Us
Shop our Seasonal Veg Boxes or Create your Own Box & Add Extras for Delivery or Collection
Choose a Veg Box & add on any of our extras or Create your own Box to a minimum order spend of £17.50 (not including delivery) on any of our organically grown fruit & veg or carefully selected range of ethical groceries & we will deliver direct to your door. Delivery charges apply ranging from £1.50 to to £3, depending upon your area. Delivery charges will be automatically applied to your order total during checkout. Order by 11pm Sunday for Tuesday deliveries (Durham & Hexham) & Wednesday delivery or collection (Newcastle, Gateshead, North Northumberland, Sunderland, Tyneside). ALL MILK ORDERS MUST BE PLACED/CANCELLED BY MIDDAY FRIDAY, LATE CANCELLATIONS WILL BE CHARGED TO YOUR ACCOUNT. UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO OFFER DELIVERY ON MILK & DAIRY PRODUCTS ALONE.
Collection is available currently from our main premises; 7 Ramsay Street, High Spen, NE39 2EL between 9.30am & 10.30am on a Wednesday morning weekly. Select collection during checkout, where full information will be provided.

Choose a Set Price Veg or Fruit & Veg Box or Create your own Box to a minimum order spend of £17.50. Add extras & customise your order by shopping our carefully selected range of ethical groceries & choosing your dislikes. Order by 11pm Sunday delivery Tuesday or Wednesday. Collection available on a Wednesday. Delivery days are automatically assigned by area and will be confirmed when you place your order, unfortunately we cannot offer the option to choose your delivery day. Box contents lists will be published on a Sunday but may change subject to quality & availability. A note on milk: ALL MILK ORDERS MUST BE PLACED BY FRIDAY MIDDAY & CHANGES TO MILK ORDERS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS TIME.
We work with independent, organic farms across the UK & Europe to bring you the freshest seasonal produce. Each box is carefully thought out & individually packed by hand. We work in partnership with The Organic Pantry to pack our boxes using their fully refrigerated, solar powered packing facility. The Organic Pantry are a certified organic, family run farm near Tadcaster, North Yorkshire with whom we have worked since The Paddock started in 2013. We aim to source as locally as possible & our produce is never air freighted.
We will deliver direct to your door on Tuesday or Wednesday depending upon your area, no need to be home, just nominate a safe place for our drivers to leave the box, or collect from us in High Spen on a Wednesday morning. Delivery charges apply, ranging from£1.50 to £3, or free to collect. Delivery days are the same each week. Remember to leave a cool box for chilled items in warm weather. We work in partnership with The Organic Pantry to operate our delivery service, delivering your box on their fully refrigerated vans.
Do I have to order every week? What happens when I go on holiday?
What if I dislike a certain fruit or veg? How do I know what is coming in my box?
How & when do I pay for my order? What if something I have ordered is out of stock?
Can I collect my order? If so, how?
You control the frequency of your order, one off, weekly & fortnightly options available. Manage your holidays from your customer account. Cancellations & holiday requests must be processed via your customer account by our order deadline, we cannot process cancellation & holiday requests via email. Order by 11pm Sunday for delivery on Tuesday or Wednesday or collection on Wednesday. ALL MILK ORDERS MUST BE PLACED/CANCELLED BY MIDDAY FRIDAY. LATE CANCELLATIONS WILL BE CHARGED TO YOUR ACCOUNT.
Manage your dislikes & choose replacements from your customer account. We will upload the box contents for the following week by the Sunday before the deadline. Box contents updated weekly, published contents subject to quality & availability. We will email out the box contents each week as the deadline approaches, the system will automatically choose a swap for your dislikes, or log in and choose your own. We provide the option to swap a maximum of 3 items per box, and you can choose to pay a surcharge for a swap of higher value.
Payments are automated from your nominated card details. These are securely held by Stripe, not us. Please make sure you have added payment details to your account so your order can be processed. Payments will be processed on a Sunday evening when all orders checkout, please ensure funds are available or you may not receive your delivery. If something on your order is out of stock, this will either be credited to your online account & used towards your next order or refunded directly back to your original payment method. Check previous orders & credits in your account on our website.
Collection is available from our main business premises at 7 Ramsay Street, High Spen, NE39 2EL. Collection is free. We offer collection currently on a Wednesday morning weekly between 9.30am & 10.30am. Choose this option during checkout & full information will be provided.
